The NFL Combine is in the books and while many of the nation's top college players from Caleb Williams to Georgia's own Browck Bowers, elected not tpo participate in drills over the weekend, one Dawg in particular took advantage of showcasing his skills in front of NFL brass and Rusty Mansell believes that by doing doing so, the stock of this Georgia standout has risen.
"Ladd McConkey made some money," Mansell said on Monday as he joined Steak Shapiro on the Steakhouse to share his thoughts on performances at the combine last week. McConkey, who ran a 4.39 40-yard dash to go along with his 36-inch vertical jump and 10-feet-4 broad jump, has not been considered by many as a first round pick, however, Mansell told Shapiro that he believes after the Georgia wide receiver may garner the attention of teams that have late picks in the opening round of the draft.
"Listen, I don't think that Ladd McConkey's going to end up in the first round, but all it takes is one team," Mansell said explaining that Kansas City, who has the 31st pick of the draft, could see value in drafting McConkey. "I'm just telling you, the Chiefs are late and if you're playing the Chiefs, you don't want Ladd McConkey," Mansell explained as a player you would not want to be lined up opposite side of your defense.
