The Atlanta Falcons are finally starting to see the dust settle from their offseason, which included one of the most talked about draft picks in NFL history when they drafted Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 over pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. And while the franchise is still waiting to hear from the league what, if any, penalty they will be handed in the tampering investigation involving new quarterback Kirk Cousins, new head coach, Raheem Morris and staff have begun moving the team forward in preparing for the upcoming season.
As mandatory OTA’s are now taking place at Flowery Branch, the Falcons have had a chance to see how a Cousins led offense may look this season and after seeing a video released by the team this week that shows Cousins connecting with Kyle Pitts, excitement about the potential of the Falcons offense is starting to rise for some fans, including Sandra Golden of The Steakhouse, who shared her thoughts on Tuesday.
“Watch Kirk Cousins command the field, I’m not even going to say the huddle. When he’s on that field, he is the coach,” Golden said as she and Steak Shapiro discussed the leadership that they have seen from Cousins, who recently began taking his teammates out to various food chains to help with team bonding. “it’s just great to watch,” Shapiro added as he will go on to tell Golden he could see the Falcons having a good start to the season.
“I just have a vison of a 4-1 start, beating the Steelers, beating KC or Philly, maybe one of those two, you’re two and one,” Shapiro continued and later adding that “if we get off to a three and one start, we’re going to be one of the most talked about teams in the National Football League,” the midday host added.
