After getting off to a 14-2 start and breaking into the top 25 for the first time since the 2010-2011 season, the Georgia Bulldogs have found themselves in a bit of a slump having lost their third consecutive game on Wednesday, falling to Arkansas 68-65. And while overall the Bulldogs are currently 14-5 on the season, losses to No. 6 Tennessee and No. 1 Auburn last week, saw Georgia enter Wednesday’s game no longer ranked in the top 25.
“That was a horrendous effort by Georgia in the second half,” Steak Shapiro said on Thursday as he and Rusty Mansell shared their thoughts on the Bulldogs’ loss to Arkansas, which dropped them to 2-4 in the SEC. As their conversation continued, the two midday host agreed Georgia was “out hustled” by the Razorbacks, as Shapiro noted the importance of the Bulldogs turning their season around.
“There’s a ton of money that is poured into Georgia basketball,” Shapiro continued as he explained why he believes Georgia head coach, Mike White is “on the clock” and needs to have a sense of urgency to perform better as the Bulldogs’ remaining conference schedule will feature six teams currently ranked in the top 25, including No. 5 Florida, who they will travel to on Saturday and face again in February.
“They go at Florida on Saturday, you have South Carolina at home next Tuesday night that is an absolute must win,” Mansell said as he and Shapiro discussed the difficulty of Georgia’s remaining schedule.
