The University of Georgia has a huge game on Saturday vs the Ole’ Miss Rebels that both teams need to win. Georgia is currently ranked #3 in the country, and came at #2 in the first College Football Playoff ranking, meaning they would get a first-round bye if the ranking stays the same. But all of that would probably go away with a loss to Ole’ Miss on Saturday. Not that Georgia would be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss, but they would all but be able to kiss winning the SEC and receiving a first round bye… by by.
Not only is it an important game for Georgia to win, but more importantly it is a game that Carson Beck needs to win. While Georgia did beat #1 ranked Texas earlier in the year, Beck threw three interceptions in the game. In last week’s win versus Florida in Jacksonville, Carson Beck threw three interceptions in that one too. Every time that Carson Beck has had an opportunity to deliver a “signature win”, Georgia has to win despite Beck’s turnover issues. That will not be the case Saturday versus Mississippi. If Carson Beck throws multiple interceptions against a Mississippi team that leads the nation in sacks, Georgia will probably lose. But if he can get the win without putting the football in harm’s way, it would indeed be his first ever signature win. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael discuss Carson Beck’s recent play, and how he can help Georgia get a huge win Saturday versus the Rebels.
