Just before Saturday's game, a 45-16 win over South Carolina, kicked off, some news about the UGA football team leaked regarding backup QB D'Wan Mathis.
With J.T. Daniels seemingly grabbing hold of the starting QB job and Mathis still behind Stetson Bennett now that his shoulder has recovered, along with highly rated QB prospect Brock Vandagriff scheduled to join the team next season, one can understand Mathis questioning his future with the program.
DawgNation's Mike Griffith joined John and Hugh to update them on the latest with Mathis and where his head is at.
“D’Wan has been unhappy not to play,” says Griffith. “We’re talking about a 20-year old kid that is a year and a half removed from brain surgery that fought his butt off to get an opportunity at Georgia and had to stand on the sideline to watch Stetson Bennett to play.
“There’s fire behind the smoke but I don’t know how much. Guys can go in the (transfer) portal and end up not transferring.”
