Former Vols QB Erik Ainge says playing in Sanford Stadium is "Overrated"

Erik Ainge think Vols Will Be "Just Fine" in Athens

In the pantheon of quarterbacks in the University of Tennessee history, Erik Ainge might not be the most memorable. When it comes to beating the Dawgs in Sanford Stadium, though, he was a perfect 2-0. And he had some very choice words for the Athens faithful ahead of the Saturday afternoon matchup with the Vols.

In a Tuesday evening tweet, the host of the 'Erick Ainge Show' in Knoxville called playing between the hedges "overrated". And that it was "not loud and definitely not intimidating". As a freshman, Ainge led an upset over the No. 8 ranked Dawgs 19-14. And two years later, he and the Vols hung 51 points in a come from behind victory over Georgia, becoming just the 2nd team ever to break the 50 point mark in Sanford (Steve Spurrier's Gators scored 52 in 1995).

In today's Steakhouse, Rusty and Steak discussed Ainge's tweet, and just what it will take for the Dawgs to upend the now No. 1 CFP ranked Vols in Athens. The Dawgs and Vols will kick off 3:30 Saturday afternoon on CBS.
