The 2024 season for the University of Georgia football has come to an end thanks to a 23-10 loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl Thursday afternoon.
One of the many things that stood out during this game was more dropped passes by UGA pass-catchers. Georgia finished the 2024 season with 36 dropped passes, more than any other team in the SEC. And while dropped passes were not solely to blame for Georgia losing to Notre Dame, they were a glaring one.
If there is one thing that is known about Georgia Bulldog football, it’s that they are known for having elite wide receiving corps. Something else that stood out in Thursday’s game was the lack of pass protection. Quarterback Gunner Stockton was running for his life for most of the game and was probably lucky to have only taken four sacks. The Georgia Bulldogs did not finish the 2024 season with an elite roster, but I can guarantee you that they will start the 2025 season with one, as Head Coach Kirby Smart will not have it any other way. Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael dive a little further in to Thursday’s game, and where UGA heads from here.
