The Georgia Bulldogs will open up their SEC season on Saturday when they travel to Knoxville, Tennessee to take on the Volunteers, in a matchup which is considered to be the first real test of the season for the Bulldogs and more importantly for Georgia quarterback, Gunner Stockton.

“The question just centers, and it always seems to here at the University of Georgia, around the quarterback play and what they’re going to get out of Gunner Stockton,” Connor Riley of Dawg Nation said on Tuesday as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell to preview Saturday’s matchup.

“He knows he needs to go out there and walk that fine line between protecting the football and playing to the strength which I think is this team’s defense, but at the same point and time, making plays when they’re available,” Riley said of Stockton needing show his ability to make big throws down field if necessary.

“This is a game where Gunner Stockton, at least once or twice in the second half of this game, I believe he’s going to be asked to make a play. Maybe he’s able to do it with his legs, but he’s going to have to show he can win with his arm, something I don’t think we’ve really seen these first two weeks,” Riley added.
