The narrative through the first three weeks of college football has shifted to how there are no dominant teams, and it's a relatively level playing field.
"Wouldn't that be good, though, just for college football in general?" Andy asked. "Wouldn't it be great if there was, like, 10 teams right now that legitimately have a chance to win a National Championship instead of three?"
If this is the narrative that continues through the end of the season, should college football move to a 12-game playoff sooner rather than later?
A lot of these teams like Florida, like Ohio State, like Clemson are going to get better as the season continues. Why not be rewarded for that with a postseason berth?
If a 12-game playoff started now, how fun would some of these matchups be?
-Iowa vs. Notre Dame
-Penn State vs. Florida
-Texas A&M vs. Ohio State
-Cincinnati vs. Clemson

"Theoretically, if you're a well-coached football team, you're going to be better in December than you were in September," Andy continued. "But there's a lot of times...you lose a game in September and that's that. But now, you can actually have the opportunity to improve. Reward good coaching; not just having these great rosters.
"If it is true that this college football season is a little bit more parity, and you're going to see teams that are more similarly matched, the 12-team playoff can't get here soon enough."
