Four-star quarterback and one of the top available signal-callers in the Class of 2025 out of Carrollton, Georgia Julian Lewis committed to coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes over Indiana and Georgia just days after dropping his longtime commitment to USC. This decision may be a surprise for some Georgia fans, but earlier today The Morning Shift explained why Lewis was never going to choose Georgia over Colorado.

“The way they do things is you sit here for a couple years, you learn everything, you earn the trust, learn the system, and then we’ll give you a shot to start and then you have to earn that, and look he’s going to go to Colorado and Shedeur [Sanders] is leaving, he’s going to step right in.” Beau Morgan said.

Ryan Puglisi is only one year ahead of Lewis while Shedeur Sanders has already declared for the NFL draft with no obvious successor in place, so the plan is now for Lewis to slide right in and start right away.

In this day and age of college football high profile players like Lewis most likely aren’t going to be willing to sit and wait when they don’t have to, and given Colorado’s success this season, the opportunity to be coached by Deion Sanders, and of course the opportunity to play right away Georgia can’t offer everything Colorado offers Ju Ju Lewis right away, and that’s why he was never coming to Georgia.
