Up to this point you haven’t really heard anybody not be excited about the NFL player Brock Bowers could be, that is until The Morning Shift asked NFL Network analyst & former Vice President of Player Evaluation for the New York Giants Marc Ross what he thinks of Bowers and where he thinks he’ll be drafted.
COMMENTS ON BROCK BOWERS BEGIN AT THE 7:31 MARK IN THE INTERVIEW
“And even the way you look at Brock Bowers and the way Georgia plays him, I think they scheme him a lot too," Ross said. "You know that impact jumping in there where we have to scheme a guy open all the time. You know you’re not looking at that and saying that’s worth a top 20 talent."
Tiffany Blackmon followed up by asking Ross if he feels like Bowers is a game-changer, and Ross did not mince words.
“I just don’t see it, you know I don't see the guy being all that Superman that everyone’s talking about,” Ross said. “I like him, but I don’t see this unbelievably superstar guy. I think he has some limitations that kind of get hidden a little bit.”
When Beau asked Ross who he would compare Bowers to, Ross said “I’m not sure, I really don’t have a comparable for him. He’s a smaller dude who’s not a super athlete and is not extremely fast. He can catch the ball really well, he’s got good feel in there.”
Whether or not you agree with Ross, there’s still a pretty good chance Bowers will be a top-20, and maybe even a top-10 pick, but obviously there’s not a consensus around Bowers being a top talent in this year’s NFL draft.
