"You don't get your mind right, and you're ready for a 60 minute fight and it turns into one, it's hard to change gears mid-stream" was the sentiment preached by former Georgia coach Mark Richt on this morning's Steakhouse with Steak Shapiro and Drew Butler.
Coach Richt was speaking, of course, about the focus needed by the Dawgs this week in preparation for TCU while coming off a big 42-41 win over Ohio State in the Peach Bowl in the CFP Semifinal. And he believes that Georgia and Kirby will have no problem turning it back on for TCU and the CFP Championship game.
But for Georgia, beating TCU will be no easy task, as Coach Richt described them as having an underdog mentality - "They kind of feel like they beat anybody at anytime, and they should feel that way."
For the Dawgs, the prep is where you get the mindset needed to get ready, according to Coach Richt. "As a coach, you start studying film of your opponent really quick, and that gets you in the right frame of mind", Richt told Steak and Drew.
Even as the early heavy favorite, Coach Richt knows that this is the type of game that Georgia will need to be dialed in to from the very beginning if they want to repeat as national champions.
