Former Ohio State Buckeye and ESPN analyst Bobby Carpenter joined Dukes & Bell to talk about the Michigan-Ohio State cancellation due to Covid, and should Ohio State & Texas A&M play this weekend?
Carpenter talked about it would be a celebrated move for A&M and Ohio State to play each other on Saturday.
“I honestly think if you talk to both of the coaches Jimbo Fisher and Ryan Day those guys would be on board with it. Would give Jimbo Fisher a great opportunity to play their way in should they beat Ohio State with a great data point and it would give Ohio State a sixth game and a great data point for the committee should they win.” Carpenter said “There’s a lot of opportunities there for a mutually beneficial game, you’d love to see it happen, for a college football fan, that’s what you want to see.”
“I know how disappointed, really players are on both sides of Ohio State-Michigan this week, it’s a huge rivalry game it’s something you look forward to all year. You guys are down there in Georgia, imagine you had Florida-Georgia not playing, that’s something that happens every year, you enjoy it, guys look forward to it, it’s bragging rights, there’s all these things that surround it.”
