The last time a player with the last name ‘Bennett’ accepted a walk-on spot with the Georgia football team, that player delivered (pun somewhat intended) the program’s first national championship in over 40 years. Now, Bulldog fans will hope that history repeats itself as Stetson Bennett’s brother, Luke, is headed to Athens as a preferred walk-on.

Unlike his quarterback older brother, Luke Bennett is a wide receiver. In three seasons at Pierce County High School, Bennett amassed 638 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns.

While they play different positions, Luke and Stetson are similarly sized at 5’11’’.

With Stetson returning for his senior season, there is potential for a Bennett-to-Bennett connection at some point this fall. Assuming it's when a game is comfortably in hand, that could come against Samford, Kent State or maybe even Vanderbilt.
