Georgia has opened as the early favorite to win the 2023 national championship, at 3-1 odds and +300. If you watched the second half of Monday night's title game, you have a better understanding as to why winning a third title in a row could be a safe bet.
The Dawgs steamrolled TCU 65-7 to win their second consecutive CFP title. The game was never really in doubt, as UGA scored TDs on five of their first six possessions, opening up a 38-7 lead at the half. That large lead allowed fans to get a glimpse of the future in the second half, and that future looks bright.
Rusty Mansell was live at SoFi Stadium to see the game, and he chatted with Steak and Sandra this morning in The Steakhouse.
"They (Georgia) added some huge pieces to the puzzle," Rusty told the show. "They got some super talented people coming back."
After last night's win, Jalen Carter officially declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. Kelee Ringo strongly hinted he was likely to follow suit. Kirby Smart is going to lose more underclassmen, either to the draft or the transfer portal. However, he's signed another top-three recruiting class. And the Dawgs were one of the big winners in the transfer portal, landing wide receivers RaRa Thomas of Mississippi State, and Dominic Lovett out of Missouri.
