The tight end room last year at Georgia was arguably the single most talented position group in the country. So it makes sense that even when losing a potential first-rounder in Darnell Washington, the group is still going to be among the nation's best in 2023.

Brock Bowers is the obvious highlight, but freshman Lawson Luckie has been turning heads this spring, according to our very own Rusty Mansell.

The consensus 4-star, and top-10 position rated, Luckie enrolled early and has been going through spring drills with the team. He is the son of former UGA letterwinner Mike Luckie. Mike, along with his two identical brothers Miles, and Dustin, gained attention in the late 90s as the "Luckie Triplets".

According to Rusty in Wednesday morning's The Steakhouse, Lawson is starting have some 'oh my goodness, I can't believe UGA got another tight end' moments. "He can run, he can block, and he can catch. And he's 6-foot-3, 235 pounds."

Brock Bowers is the reigning John Mackey Award winner given to the nation's top tight end, and a two-time All-American. Through two seasons, he owns the UGA record for receiving yards and touchdowns at the position. Rusty says, however, don't be surprised to see Lawson have a role in the offense come fall - "This is another weapon at the tight end position."
