College Football reporter Pat Forde joined Dukes & Bell and talked about the possible expansion of the college football playoff and what would that actually look like?
When asked about an expansion of the college football playoff.
“As of now it looks like there is an early kind of a ground swell for a 12 team playoff, I’d be fine with that, I think it could be a lot of fun,” Forde said. “My reservation there is that if a team is going to make the championship game in that format they’re going to play 16 or 17 games that’s a full NFL season.”
“You guys know the wear and tear and the pounding that is, that’s for millionaire players with a union that’s out there to protect them. Name, image, and likeness is not gonna be such a dramatic game changer for these athletes that I think you can say, ahh they’re pros they can play a pro schedule. So I would be in favor of finding a week off there somewhere, I would take conference championships out of the equation and just not play those but that’s gonna be a tough fight to win.”
