Why CJ Stroud won't stand in way of another UGA title run

Dawgnation’s Connor Riley joined Dukes & Bell for his weekly appearance on the show and talked about why the Georgia Bulldogs have no reason to be worried about facing Heisman finalist CJ Stroud.

When asked if Stroud will be the best quarterback UGA has faced all season.

“He probably is the best quarterback they’ve seen, but I’m not scared of CJ Stroud,” Riley said. “There’s not a toughness there, I don’t believe he has that quote unquote dog in him. It’s not just a symptom of him, I think it’s a symptom of this entire Ohio State team. I think the team we’ve seen this year, if you can get physical with them you can rattle them a little bit.”

Riley talked about why he thinks Georgia will get Stroud off his game.

“CJ’s an incredibly talented player and is going to be someone taken in the top 10 of this year’s NFL draft," Rile said. "Quite frankly, if I’m a team that needs a quarterback I don’t want any part of CJ Stroud. He’s an incredibly accurate quarterback when things are going well and he’s operating from a clean pocket, he’s a great guy. I think a little bit like Jared Goff might be the comparison there for him.

"But when one little thing goes wrong, one little thing is off like say the Northwestern game where the weather wasn’t great, or the Michigan game where Michigan did rough him around a little bit, that offense really screeches to a halt there. And I think Georgia is going to be able to rough him up a little bit with Jalen Carter there and I think if you see him a little rattled, a little flustered, he doesn’t always operate at his best at those less than ideal circumstances and I think you’re going to see that when Georgia and Ohio State play.”
