With “March Madness” quickly approaching, the Georgia Bulldogs have found themselves trending in the wrong direction and in danger of not making the NCAA Tournament having lost seven of their last 10 games including their 69-53 loss to Texas A&M on Tuesday, which was their second straight loss and fifth road loss within that stretch.
“We’re an SEC team that has top recruits and you are just getting blitzed on the road,” Steak Shapiro said on Wednesday as he and Sandra Golden reacted to the Bulldogs loss to A&M, in a game in which they led by nine points at halftime, however opened the second half on the wrong side of a 27-4 run by the Aggies.
“You went 15 minutes without a field goal,” Shapiro continued as he reacted to Georgia’s poor shooting in the second half of Tuesday’s game, in which they did not hit their first field goal until there was 7:20 remaining in the game. “If you didn’t put a team together that is able to score and able to shoot, shame on you,” Shapiro continued as he shared thoughts on why he believes Georgia head coach, Mike White has to shoulder the blame for the Bulldogs’ inability to make adjustments to perform better.
“That performance last night by Georgia and Mike White, who can’t get his team out of a funk, that’s a coach’s problem. Get your team out of the funk, run something to get an easy look, run it again, find a play and slow the tide,” Shapiro suggested. “That was an embarrassment,” he concluded.
