This weekend, The University of Georgia heads to Austin, Texas to square off against the University of Texas in the most hyped SEC matchup of the year. I know, it still sounds ridiculous to say. But exactly how good are these two teams?
Texas is ranked #1 in the country, but the “experts” claim that they haven’t really played anyone of any significance (Don’t tell Oklahoma that). Texas has played one ranked team this season, in a National Championship rematch versus Michigan, and beat them 31-12. Now, this was merely a shadow of the team that won the championship last year (don’t tell Michigan that), and Texas was able to easily handle them. UGA is definitely Texas’ most difficult opponent to date, but exactly how good are they? Georgia lost a close one to Alabama earlier in the season that has a lot of pundits asking questions, but have beaten the rest of their opponents with relative ease (don’t tell Kentucky that). If Georgia is able to effectively run the ball, they should win this game, but that will probably be a little easier said than done.
All that we can hope for is a great game, but there is a chance that one of these teams gets exposed on Saturday night. Andy Bunker and Abe Gordon expand on the primetime Saturday night showdown in Austin.
