The Arch Manning recruitment battle is in the final rounds of a high profile mega fight.
The 5-star QB prospect, with the last name that equals football royalty, is rumored to have narrowed his list of possible college choices down to three. (UGA, Alabama, Texas)
However, with the recent announcement that Alabama received a commitment from another highly touted Louisiana HS football star in QB Eli Holstein, will Manning take the Crimson Tide off of his list?
Although Manning hasn’t indicated when he will make his decision known about his college choice, very few experts believe that Manning will begin his senior season at Isidore Newnan HS (New Orleans, LA) without ending the speculations.
Both Georgia and Texas have a great case to the Manning’s choice. Both Athens, GA and Austin, TX have great reputations as wonderful college towns to spend your playing career.
Both programs have a rich football history. And with UGA winning the 2021 National Championship, the Kirby Smart lead program is at an all-time high for recognition.
So what could be the deciding factor that will carry either school to the top of Manning’s list?
DawgNation reporter Jeff Sentell told the Jon Chuckery Show (with Chris Goforth) that UGA’s trump card could be the fact that the program was been winning without what most analysts consider elite level QB play.
“They see what Georgia has done without that elite QB signal caller” said Sentell to Goforth when explaining what the Manning family will have to consider as they deliberate on the best option for Arch.
“That could be the way for Arch to make his legacy, to go to Georgia and finally be that elite QB for the Bulldogs” explained Sentell.
The Bulldogs just had 15 members of their championship team drafted, but the last Bulldog QB to be a highly regarded NFL draft prospect was Mathew Stafford in 2009.
Arch Manning in a Bulldog uniform would certainly change that scenario in a hurry.
