If you are a fan of Georgia Bulldogs’ sports teams, then over the you may have seen two of the best Athens’ products make a case to be at the top of their respective sports.
When it comes to basketball, Atlanta native, Anthony Edwards, is quickly making a case to be one of, if not the best player to wear a Bulldogs’ uniform on the basketball court, while current Georgia baseball third baseman, Charlie Condon has drawn national attention with his performance this FBS leading batting average of .459 to go along with 33 homeruns and 69 RBI’s.
“I don’t remember seeing a college baseball player put up the power numbers that Charlie Condon is putting up,” Steak Shapiro said as he and Rusty Mansell shared their thoughts on the talent level outside of football that has been coming out of Athens.
“This guy is going to be the number one pick, he is an absolute, just animal, Mansell said of Condon as he praised the 6-foot-6 red shirt sophomore, adding that should Condon very well be a number one pick of the Major League Baseball draft, he would join Travon Walker and Anthony Edwards as number one picks from Georgia, giving them one player from the there major sports to be selected number one.
The conversation would then pivot to Edwards, who is coming off of a 43 point performance on Saturday as the Timberwolves defeated the defending champion, Denver Nuggets, with both agreeing that the emergence of the 2020 number one overall pick, has put him in the conversation of being the new face of the NBA.
“He’s got that big smile, he’s got that sense of humor, he’s incredibly likeable for Adam Silver to be like, ‘this is what we need more of,’’ Shapiro said. Click link above to hear Steak and Rusty’s conversation is its entirety:
