Georgia Tech in a 'good place' as they get set for 2026 season
On September 3, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will open their 2026 season hosting the Colorado Buffalos, and while there will be some newness to the Brent Key lead program, the fourth-year Yellow Jackets head coach believes his team is “in a good place” as they prepare for their season opener and 2026 campaign.
“I think I know this team well as far as their character and make up of them and we’ll see once the lights come on how they execute together as a team and play for each other,” Key said as he joined 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell, to share thoughts on how he feels about his team heading into next Thursday’s matchup.
“I feel it’s going to be really exciting, I’m excited,” Key continued, adding that transfer, Alberto Mendoza would be the team’s starter and that he has “no fancy slogans” to get his players ready for the season. “I stood in front of them the first team meeting before camp started and said ‘how about we commit to each other’ and wake up every day to be the absolute best football players we can be with the goal of going out and winning every football game,” Key said.Georgia Tech set to kickoff 2026 season vs Colorado at Bobby Dodd Stadium
