Beck's return is good, but Dawgs still have 'needs' to address

Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation explains how the Georgia Bulldogs has several important needs to address for 2024 season

On Monday, Georgia Bulldogs’ fans got the confirmation they had been waiting on as Carson Beck announced via X, formally known as Twitter, that he would be returning to Athens for his senior season and then approximately 40 minutes later, recruit, Dylan Raiola, announced that he was de-committing from Georgia and committing to Nebraska, which many anticipated would be the move by the 5-star recruit.

On Tuesday, Mike Griffith of Dawg Nation joined Sandra Golden and Mark Zinno on The Steakhouse to share his thoughts on both the Beck and Raiola announcements and how the impact they have for the Bulldogs. “I think biggest offseason transaction in college football,” Griffith responded as he explained to Golden and Zinno that Beck’s return to Georgia was likely the biggest “domino to fall” as the Bulldogs look to build towards their 2024 season.

And while Griffith believes that Beck returning to Georgia may have been the most important off-season move for the Dawgs, he would further explain that there is still other needs in which the Bulldogs have to address including offensive tackle as it is predicted that Amarius Mims, Brock Bowers and potentially Ladd McConkey may enter the NFL draft. “There’s other impact guys out there though that Georgia’s after at receiver, the running back position….as well as on the offensive line,” Griffith explained.
