It’s possible the Eagles won’t play another game at home this season. If this is Brandon Graham’s swan song, then Sunday was a brutal way to go out.
He’s not going there in his head just yet though.
The eternally positive Eagles captain flirted with retirement this offseason, and calling it a career after this campaign is certainly plausible. Although Philly has been locked into the postseason for a while, the Eagles are in a freefall and it’s no guarantee they get to host a playoff game.
That means if they bow out of the postseason early, Graham’s final game at the Linc could ultimately have been Sunday’s dreadful loss to the Cardinals.
Graham was asked Tuesday in his weekly appearance on the 94WIP Morning Show if that possibility crept into his head as he walked off the field.
“You know what, I ain’t there yet,” Graham said. “I ain’t there on that yet because I know the season ain’t over with. So, hey, whatever we’ve got to do, I’m just trying to end the season off right, I’m not really thinking about my future, I’m trying to capitalize on what’s going on right now. Because, man, next year is going to look different for everybody, going to have new faces, new rookies coming in and all of that. I know for me I’m trying to finish this the right way.”
