Despite tearing his ACL during Alabama's National Championship loss to Georgia, Jameson Williams is still expected to be one of the first wideouts taken in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
For whoever decides to select Williams, there will be obvious questions about when he can return to the field. Front offices may have their first encouraging sign on Williams' progress during Alabama's Pro Day.
When speaking with James Palmer of the NFL Network, although not participating in any drills, Williams was at Bama's Pro Day where he told Palmer that he’s been doing “a lot of movement” while working in a pool and has been doing some light jogging, slowly working his way back from his brutal injury. Williams also added that he is shooting to return to the field by the start of training camp.
"That's what I'm shooting for," Williams said.
Williams added that the teams he has talked to have shown little to no concern over his injury and ability to recover. In our current mock draft, we have the speedy wideout getting selected with the 16th overall pick by Buffalo.
