Ole Miss head football coach Lane Kiffin revealed he has tested tested positive for coronavirus, just days before his team's season-opener.
Kiffin was set to miss the Rebels' first game against Louisville because of what he said was a break-through case of Covid-19.
The 46-year-old Kiffin said it was an isolated case on the football team, and he was "relieved" to have gotten tested despite feeling only mild symptoms. He had previously suggested he was vaccinated, touting the program's 100% vaccination rate.
The former Florida Atlantic, USC and Tennessee head coach said he was "disappointed" that he won't be traveling with his players and coaches for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta.
The Rebels were 5-5 in 2020, in their first season under Kiffin, who took over for Matt Luke.
