LSU dropped its 2020 opener to the Mississippi State Bulldogs Saturday night in Tiger Stadium, 44-34.

Mississippi State 3, LSU 0, 4:47: Bulldogs kicker Brandon Ruiz connects on a 35-yard field goal.
Second quarter
LSU 7, Miss. State 3, 9:45: Linbacker Jabril Cox returned an interception for a touchdown.
Mississippi State 10, LSU 7, 7:45: Tyrell Shavers scored on a 31-yard reception from K.J. Costello
LSU 14, Miss State 10, 5:20: Arik Gilbert hauls in a 2-yard touchdown pass from Myles Brennan.
Mississippi State 17, LSU 14, 2:27: Costello completes a 43-yard touchdown pass to Osirus Mitchell
Third quarter
LSU 17, Mississippi State 17, 9:33: Cade York hit a 26-yard FG to cap a 15-play, 67-yard drive.
Miss State 20, LSU 17, 6:23: Ruiz connects on a 24-yard field goal.
LSU 24, Mississippi State 20, 5:01: Brennan connects with Terrace Marshall Jr. for a 37-yard touchdown to cap a 5-play, 75-yard drive.
Mississippi State 27, LSU 24, 4:46: Kylin Hill scored via a 75-yard touchdown reception on the drive's first play.
Fourth quarter
Mississippi State 34, LSU 24, 14:14: Costello connected with Austin Williams for a 9-yard touchdown.
Mississippi State 34, LSU 31, 11:01: Brennan connects with Marshall for their second score of the day. This on a 33-yard reception. The drive was set up by an interception from freshmen cornerback Elias Ricks.
LSU 34, Mississippi State 34, 9:37: York hit a 40-yard field goal that capped a drive started by JaCoby Stevens forcing and recovering a K.J. Costello fumble.
Mississippi State 37, LSU 34, 7:27: Ruiz connects on 43-yard field goal.
Mississippi State 44, LSU 34, 3:39: Costello threw his fifth touchdown pass of the game a 24-yarder to Mitchell.
