Aaron Rodgers is no-doubt headed to the NFL Hall of Fame when he eventually decides to retire, but is he dragging his own legacy through the mud on the way?
Aaron Rodgers already is viewed at through a few different lenses. Certainly his on-the-field performance and accomplishments speak for themselves, but some of his off-the-field headlines have raised some eyebrows.
Whether it's dating celebrities (currently engaged to one), his relationship with his immediate family, and his recent (and possibly ongoing) flirtation with Jeopardy, Rodgers is no stranger to being on the front-page for the wrong reasons.
What we are seeing right now in Green Bay is the first time his on-field career is being intercepted by his off-field persona.
Aaron Rodgers is generally looked at by most fans as one of the most respected quarterbacks in the NFL, but that could be changing with the current temper-tantrum he's throwing.
It's understandable that Rodgers is upset, there are very good on-the-field reasons that the Packers are not going above and beyond to provide him with what is required to win another Super Bowl, but is that enough to force your way out in an ugly public affair?
Forgot how he's currently changing perception of him overall, what happens if Rodgers moves teams and fails?
Look at what happened to another pair of Hall of Fame QB's after they moved teams.
• Peyton Manning left Indianapolis after some injury concerns and won a Super Bowl with Denver
• Tom Brady left New England to break out to Bill Belichick's shadown and won a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay
Both guys took big risks and cemented his legacy, but other QB's haven't been so lucky. Brett Favre's time with the Vikings definitely comes to mind.
What happens if Rodgers goes to another city and doesn't find success? If he doesn't look like the MVP-caliber QB he has been for the majority of his career?
In the end Aaron Rodgers career will ultimately end with him in one place, Canton, but that doesn't mean he can't do damage to himself on the way.
