When Jalen Ramsey and Golden Tate line up opposite one another on the field Sunday, things could get personal.
Ramsey is the father of Tate’s two nieces, but the Rams cornerback’s relationship with Tate’s sister, Breanna Tate, did not end well.
According to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, Breanna Tate was pregnant last summer when Ramsey left her for a Las Vegas dancer. Breanna – who was a track star at the University of Mississippi – gave birth to the child in September 2019 and a month later, after Ramsey was traded from the Jaguars to the Rams, the cornerback posted a photo of himself on his new girlfriend on social media.
The post prompted a fan to write that the Giants wide receiver should “have words” with Ramsey. Tate replied to the tweet, “He know he gonna have to see me.”
“I’m not happy at all with the disrespect that he’s shown towards my sister,” Tate told the New York Post this week. “But I don’t really want to go too much into it.”
Ramsey is considered one of the best corners in the league – and also has a reputation as a trash-talker. It is possible Ramsey could bait Tate, or whoever he covers, into bad penalties.
“You have to be alert of this guy because he’s coming after the ball every play,” head coach Joe Judge said of Ramsey. “You can say he’s talking trash, but this guy definitely backs it up on the field. He’s a special player.”
One thing is for sure – it will be a matchup worth watching on Sunday.
