Is Kyle Pitts really about to become the highest-drafted tight end in NFL history?

We're just over a month away from the NFL draft and as the rush of free agency slows down the picture is becoming more clear for team needs.

The Falcons are one of the few teams that have been very difficult to get a good read on. What they plan to do with the fourth-overall pick remains a mystery.

While some experts have Atlanta drafting a QB, there's quite a handful that have mocked them TE Kyle Pitts out of Florida.

Pitts is far and away the highest-rated TE prospect in the draft. But does that make him worthy of a top-5 pick?

Riley Odoms was selected fifth overall by the Broncos in the 1972 NFL Draft, the last time that a tight end was selected in the top 5. Mike Ditka was also selected fifth overall back in the 1961 draft.

So is Kyle Pitts really such a generational talent that the Falcons should make him the highest-drafted TE in history?

Mike Griffith, who covers UGA Football for DawgNation shared his thoughts on how good Pitts can be in the NFL and if he's deserving of being selected fourth overall.

"It's the position. You don't draft a tight end No. 4, I can't see that. There's too many other great players in this draft, too many other needs," says Griffith. "A lot of this was scheme, pick plays, Florida also had [wide receiver Kadarius] Toney out there. Pitts was part system-guy and I would not take Pitts or any other tight end at No. 4 in the NFL draft."
