CBS Sports NFL Analyst Bryant McFadden joined Dukes & Bell to talk about Championship weekend in the NFL and what happened to the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in the second half of the AFC Championship game.

McFadden when asked if Mahomes was to blame for the Chiefs second half woes.

“Let’s keep it real, Mahomes was terrible in the second half, Pat Mahomes is too talented to have these ‘oh my’ moments, these moments where what are you doing? It seemed like he wanted to turn it into a backyard football game,” McFadden said. “They rushed three, played zone or played man but the check downs were always available, Mckinnon started the game off on fire, catching passes or running the football. That was available the entire ballgame but he just wanted to try to be aggressive and take shots down the football field, but they were dropping so many guys in coverage no one was open and it helped make him hold the football longer than what he wanted to and then he’s just running around for his life.”

Bryant talked about how quarterbacks these days don’t take what the defenses give them.

“That’s what made Tom Brady so good guys, Tom Brady didn’t mind doing it the easy way, if you wanna play deep and keep everything in front of you, he’s ok with hitting the check down to go the length of the football field. Most quarterbacks don’t wanna do that nowadays, they don’t, they don’t wanna do it the easy way, they wanna take shots and that’s what we saw yesterday from Patrick Mahomes.”
