Atlanta Hawks head coach Quin Snyder joined Steak Shapiro after Hawks defeated the Celtics in an historic come from behind win

The Atlanta Hawks pulled off an historic come back win on Monday night as they climb out of a 30 point deficit to defeat the Celtics 120-118, their largest come back victory in franchise history. On Tuesday, head coach Quin Snyder joined Steak Shapiro on the The Steakhouse to share his reaction to the win and give praise to the Atlanta fans for their willingness to not disingage once the Hawks fell behind in the first half.

"Our fans were unbelieveable Steak," Snyder told Shapiro as he explained how he understands that the first half performance by the Hawks last night could have been more than enough reasons for fans to not be as supportive. "We haven't given everybody an whole lot to cheer about, Boston was playing great, but we weren't playing at the level that we needed to compete," Snyder said yet the Hawks' fans were "electric" he added.


"You heard what Atlanta's capable of as a basketball town, the energy in that building, that was special," Shapiro said in repsonse to Snyder as they both agreed that the energy displayed by the fans in attendance last night. "I think the circumstances made it unique too," Snyder continued as he praised the efforts of the Hawks of not only battling back from the 30 point deficit, but doing it without "key guys" including Trae Young and Jalen Johnson, but also doing it against a Celtices team who, while without Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, still had their big three of Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis.

"We've had guys stepping up," Snyder told Shapiro as he spoke about the contributions from players that have not seen many minutes throughout the season, however noted that "it's fun when you're really competing together and that's what we saw," the Hawks' head coach added.
