Kickers are people, too. Right, Robbie Gould?

As time expired in the first half of Sunday’s NFC Championship, Gould knocked through a 38-yard field goal to give the San Francisco 49ers a 10-7 lead. Afterwards, he got into a heated argument with Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, one of the game’s most notorious trash talkers.

Gotta love the intensity from Gould, who didn’t back down and got some backup from his long-snapper Taybor Pepper.

The Gould-Rams drama didn’t stop there. FOX cameras also shared video of the kicker practicing field goals just over the heads of his blue-and-gold clad rivals at halftime.

The 39-year-old Gould has been a key figure during the 49ers’ current playoff run, as he nailed a game-winning 47-yarder as time expired last week in the snow to top the Green Bay Packers. He’s no stranger to pressure and is showing some rare fire for a kicker.

“When it comes to postseason play, these are the games you live for,” Gould said last week in Green Bay. “If you don’t like these games, you’re not going to be a kicker in the National Football League very long.”

Gould is now a perfect 21-of-21 on field goal attempts in 13 postseason games.
