Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson missed much of the second half against the Rams on Thursday night with what the team later called a "badly sprained" finger on his throwing hand.

Wilson came up shaking the right hand immediately after his hand slammed into the arm of a rushing Aaron Donald on a passing attempt. Wilson remained in the game for one play, handing off to a running back on third and long before exiting the game for good.
Cameras showed the 10-year veteran's mangled finger out of joint before it was popped back into place by team trainers. He was later seen gripping a tennis ball with the finger bandaged.
Though it is too soon for official injury reports, the setback puts Wilson's status in doubt for Week 6, against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
The seven-time Pro Bowler, 33 next month, is yet to miss a game in his professional career, starting every game out of a possible 149 since breaking into the league in 2012.
Former Jets starter turned veteran backup Geno Smith took over for the injured Wilson. Smith guided two scoring drives -- one touchdown and a field goal -- before a first-play interception on his third series all but sealed the win for Los Angeles.
With the loss, the Seahawks fell to 2-3 in the tough NFC West. With their season potentially hanging in the balance, the ultra-competitive Wilson will surely do all he can to be under center against the Steelers, which airs on NBC's Sunday Night Football on Oct. 17.
We're not betting against a return, and the couple days of extra rest created by playing on Thursday night will surely help.
