Even after what's fairly universally viewed as the worst head coaching stint in NFL history, it hasn't taken Urban Meyer long to find a lead on his next job.

Less than six months after the Jacksonville Jaguars fired Meyer following a scandal-ridden tenure as their head coach, Meyer sounds prepared to resume his role as a college football analyst for FOX, where he worked during the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

"I love Fox -- I love their team and their guys," he said on The Tim May Podcast this week. "There’s nothing that’s been finalized yet, but I plan on going back and doing it. I really enjoyed that."

Conveniently, Bob Stoops -- who succeeded Meyer on "Big Noon Kickoff" -- is departing FOX after one season to return to coaching in the XFL. That seemingly opens the door for Meyer to return to FOX's pregame show with Rob Stone, Reggie Bush, Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart.

Evidently, allegations of Meyer kicking a player, calling his assistant coaches "losers," and saying "these boys from the South, their transcripts ain't right" haven't deterred FOX from having interest in reuniting with Meyer.

Meyer is still one of the greatest coaches in NCAA history, having won three National Championships during stints between Florida and Ohio State. It will be interesting, though, to see how FOX utilizes him beyond "Big Noon Kickoff." Would some of the network's hosts that were forced to criticize him during his failed NFL stint -- such as Colin Cowherd -- welcome him back to appear on their shows? Would he be willing to let bygones be bygones with those hosts?
