The high school football season is flying by right before our very eyes! We're deep into the region schedule and now is the time that the wheat is separated from the chafe. That is exactly what happened tonight when the 5-0 Cambridge Bears took on the 5-1 John's Creek Gladiators in a thrilling 48-47 (OT) finish. The game came down to the final play when the Bears blocked an extra point to secure their victory over their region rival.
The head coach of Cambridge High School, Craig Bennett, joined the High School Scoreboard Show to talk about his team's dramatic victory!
The Bears had the deck stacked against them, down 17 points going into the fourth quarter. But they continued to battle and they found a different way to win. Coming in to tonight, they had been allowing only 6.6 points per game with three shutouts.

Tonight they allowed more than seven times that, yet still came out on top.
"I don't like that score too much," says Coach Bennett. "I'll take it, but I don't like it!"
Cambridge moves to 4-0 in the region, and 6-0 overall. "It's far from over and we gotta make sure we take it one week at a time."
Tonight's victory is certainly a big one in such a tight division race. It could potentially go down as a crucial one in the race for the Region 7-AAAAAA title.
