“I don’t know much they can, but I know they have to”. That was the response from the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Chad Bishop, who covers the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for the news outlet, as he spoke with 92-9 The Game’s Jon Chuckery on Tuesday, ahead of next week’s ACC Media Days. As Bishop continued to share his thoughts on the importance of the Yellow Jackets “figuring out a way to put some points on the scoreboard,” he notes that the emphasis mainly lies on offensive production heading into this season because “everybody thinks that defense is going to be pretty competitive and going to be pretty sound,” Bishop added.
However, Bishop goes on to tell Chuckery that with the Yellow Jackets head coach, Brent Key and offensive coordinator, Buster Faulkner, both having been offensive players themselves in their playing days, there will be a level of importance for the duo to “be inventive, to sort of create an identity. Maybe not do the same things that everybody else in the world is doing and then try to put the ball in the end zone,” in addition to the talent level of key transfer players like quarterback, Haynes King as well as top level recruits, Georgia Tech will have to figure out a way to be “competitive”.
