Adam Sandler to receive Chairman's Award at PS International Film Awards

Actor Adam Sandler will be the recipient of the Chairman's Award for his performance in the film "Jay Kelly" next year at the Convention Center during the Palm Springs International Film Awards, it was announced Friday.

"Adam Sandler delivers a deeply moving and career-best performance in `Jay Kelly'," Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said. "It is a performance which underscore his standing as one of the most versatile and respected actors of his generation."

The film awards will take place on Jan. 3, 2026 at 277 N. Avenida Caballeros, with the accompanying Palm Springs International Festival running from Jan. 2-11.

Director Noah Baumbach's film follows a story about a famous movie actor Jay Kelly, portrayed by George Clooney, as he "embarks on a journey of self-discovery confronting both his past and present, accompanied by his devoted manager, Ron (Adam Sandler)," officials said.

Past recipients of the award include Timothee Chalamet, Amy Adams, George Clooney, Viola Davis, Billie Eilish, Finneas O'Connell, Tom Hanks, Jennifer Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Regina King, Gary Oldman and Reese Witherspoon.
