Airbnb is offering up more vouchers to house people directly affected by the warehouse fire in Boyle Heights.
Airbnb's Christine Chang said that so far, they've provided more than 1,000 nights away from home to people directly affected by the warehouse fire.
“Going forward, we have made an additional commitment of a million dollars to continue to support the people who are most impacted, who are living very close to the warehouse,” she told KNX News’ Karen Adams.
Chang added they're working with the nonprofit 211LA to get the vouchers out to those who need them.
“People have access to stay at any home on the Airbnb platform,” she said. “So if people need a larger place for their families, if they need a place that can accept pets, if they need a place closer to school or work, 211 LA can work together with that family to really understand their needs, both for the type of place that they're staying and for the length of stay.”
Airbnb has provided more than 100,000 nights of free housing to people impacted by disasters in Southern California, including the Eaton and Palisades fires and the chemical leak in Garden Grove.
