The annual Conquer the Bridge run at the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro has been cancelled due to construction.
Councilman Tim McOsker told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener there was a mix-up between Caltrans and run organizers.
“Caltrans had actually issued a permit to the Conquer the Bridge Folks,” he explained. “So they moved forward in good faith, but Caltrans also had started work on the on-ramp off ramp for the bridge, which is now under construction and it’s dirt. It's basically a dirt path, and that's the pathway that the Conquer the Bridge folks use where you go up the bridge and come down the bridge.”
McOsker said they were unable to come up with an alternative.
