A Burbank police dog who was killed in the line of duty was honored in Washington, D.C., on Monday.
Spike, a 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, was one of 23 K-9s remembered at the National Police K-9 Memorial Service. Spike was killed on Nov. 22, 2025, while tracking an armed suspect near the 5 Freeway.
Spike was honored earlier this year when his picture was featured on Burbank’s Rose Parade float on New Year's Day.
