
INDIO, Calif. (CNS) — Five people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in Indio Saturday, blocks from the Empire Polo Club, where the Coachella Music & Arts Festival is underway.
The crash was reported at 3:07 p.m. at the intersection of Calhoun Street and Avenue 48, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Two people with moderate injuries and three people with minor injuries were take to a hospital, fire officials said. A sixth person declined transportation to a hospital.
Details about what led to the crash were not immediately available.
Traffic in the area is being heavily impacted by the Coachella festival, which sees about 125,000 daily attendees.
The crash happened about two miles from the festival grounds.
