The Dodgers will visit the White House next month to celebrate their win in the 2024 World Series.
The announcement was made on the team’s X account on Tuesday.
“In keeping with long-standing baseball tradition, President Trump has invited the 2024 World Champion Los Angeles Dodgers to the White House when they play in Washington D.C. on April 7,” the post read. “The Dodgers look forward to visiting the White House and celebrating our title.”
The team will also visit Capitol Hill on April 8.
According to Jack Harris with the Los Angeles Times, Mookie Betts said he is "undecided" if he will go to the White House and that he would discuss it with his family.
Some fans took to X to express their disappointment.
“As if trump [sic] wouldn’t want to deport half the team from the get-go,” @zuccarellohno wrote. “I know it’s not the admin’s fault and you’re spreading news about the organization but the dodgers [sic] have zero integrity. As [sic] a baseball fan this is so disappointing to see.”
“Shame on you for accepting Trump’s invite after his admin erased Jackie Robinson’s legacy from the Pentagon site,” @RichardfAngwin wrote. “This is a slap in the face to history and integrity. Skip the visit, honor the game, not the politics.”
Others, however, applauded the team for putting politics aside and accepting the invite.
“Some things are Bigger [sic] than Politics,” @OgNam213 wrote. “Dodgers go Represent for us all.”
“I'm happy to hear this. It's a great honor to go to the White House, regardless of who is president or what your politics are,” @JOSHofLA wrote. “Our guys deserve to make that trip, amd [sic] hopefully there are many more to come. Go blue!”

KNX News’ Jon Baird spoke with residents in Westchester about the team accepting the invite.
“I wouldn't go,” one man said. “Not a Trump fan at all.”
Another resident said the team should go.
“It's tradition, and you know what? A lot of Dodgers fans like Trump,” he said. “Go!”
The last time the team was at the White House was in 2021 after their 2020 World Series win.
