Police were called just after 6:45 a.m. to Pacific Coast Highway and Newland Street for the collision between three cyclists and a vehicle, police said.
One of the bicyclists was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were taken to hospitals to be treated for significant injuries, police said.
Amber Calderon, 43, of Long Beach, was driving a 2006 Mercedes E-Class car that struck the bicyclists, who were in a bike lane, and kept going for about half a mile before stopping, police said.
