Firefighter injured battling Downtown L.A. blaze

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A Los Angeles firefighter was injured battling a fire that broke out at a textile business in Downtown Los Angeles early Friday morning.

The fire was first reported shortly before 3:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of East 16th Street, according to the L.A. Fire Department. A building housing a textile business caught fire and was threatening two neighboring structures.

A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

More than 115 firefighters managed to put out the fire in just under two hours. One was being treated for a leg injury incurred during the firefight. The department said the firefighter is expected to recover.
