LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Get your caps ready, Baseball has returned to Los Angeles. First up to bat are the Los Angeles Angels, taking on the Houston Astros at 6:38 p.m. Thursday for their regular season open.
The Angels' Shohei Ohtani, the reigning American League Most Valuable Player, will be up against the Astros' Framber Valdez, according to City News Service. The game will be available on AT&T Sportsnet and Fox Sports West.
The Angels' starting lineup includes Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout, Noah Syndergaard, and Anthony Rendon.
Trout, frequently regarded as "MLB's best," returns to the field after a calf injury limited his gametime last season, according to Sports Illustrated.
In an interview with the magazine, Trout said he's not worried about re-proving himself.
"I know what I’m capable of," he said. "I know if I go out there for a full season, I’m going to be the best player on the field. I’ve always had that mentality, that mindset. And I know it."
Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers will begin their regular season Friday at Coors Field in Denver, Colo., taking on the Colorado Rockies.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. local time. The game will be available on AT&T and Spectrum SportsNet.
