Orange County authorities tracked down a man they say kidnapped and raped a 13-year-old girl in Westminster.
Brian Estuardo Verbena-Martinez was arrested in Guatemala and is awaiting extradition.
“ [He’s] been charged with kidnapping a 13-year-old Orange County girl and repeatedly raping her over a period of hours,” Kimberly Edds with the OC DA’s office told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener.
She added that Martinez dropped the girl off at a friend’s house before fleeing to Guatemala.
“This is actually the third capture of a wanted felon in a foreign country by the Orange County District Attorney's Office, as well as our federal partners and the FBI in the last about six weeks.
If convicted, Martinez faces a max sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
