
LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Los Angeles police shot and killed a man who allegedly pointed a gun at people and attempted to carjack a motorist Sunday night in Pacoima.

Officers responded to “multiple 911 calls” regarding a man with a gun near Laurel Canyon and Van Nuys Boulevard around 10:40 p.m.
Those who called 911 said the man was pointing a firearm at several people and attempted to carjack a motorist, according to the department.
When officers arrived, the suspect allegedly shot at officers. Officers returned fire and the suspect was struck.
The suspect was taken to the hospital where he died.
A handgun was recovered at the scene, according to police.
