A man was taken into custody on Thursday after he stole a plane from a flight school at Van Nuys Airport and crashed it into the side of a hangar.

Authorities said Ceffeareno Logan stole the plane around 4 a.m. from Anthony Nercessian’s L.A. Flight Academy school.

“A gentleman broke in and stole one of the planes, started the engine,” Nercessian told KNX News’ Karen Adams. “He was about to taxi out and the wing hit one of the hangars and the plane just flipped and went inside the hangar.:

The damaged hangar belongs to Nercessian’s neighbor.

He also added that not all planes need a key to start and that Logan learned how to start a plane on YouTube.
